LIVE THE DREAM

I have a dream! One day we'll all be equal
I have a dream! One day police will stop killing black people

Protect and serve! Hold up! Let me throw you a curve
No prosecutions for the police, there's no prison beds that's reserved

Abuse of authority! Now when people start gunning down cops
Will the government listen? Or say that he needs to be stopped?

So let me be blunt, with the police and their stunts
When we go off on them, it's statewide manhunts

The media put it out there, of officers being attacked
Sorry to say this but um! what about the blacks?

New York, Stockton, Chicago, LA, what city is next?
I have a dream one day! cops won't rely on their reflex

When they pull a gun, they're trained to pull it back
We get heart ache and grief, he gets employee of the year on a plaque

Everybody too scared to even dial 911
'Cause they don't know what'll happen when an officer pulls a gun

Crime rate is high it's the cities that loot
Police do it for fun when we say please don't shoot

I have a dream! But I'm not Dr. Martin Luther King
Police pulling triggers like athletes be pulling their hamstrings

I have a dream one day we can walk freely around
Without a care in the world and the police knocking us down

Nowadays! when they say the police are comin'
Ten times out of ten black people will start runnin'

I need to leave the scene before I end up being next
White sheet over my body with a hole in my specs

Everybody astonished even the media news crews
Never seen white kids die at the hands of the boys in blue

I have a dream! one day police will start being smart
And stop using their guns like it's some type of performance art

I have a dream! one day! mothers will stop buying flowers
To put on tombstones 'cause of the police's misuse of power

I have a dream that one day! we'll all weather the storm
Police won't take the law into his own hands because of his uniform

Each minute some baby in the world is sure to be born
And another mother somewhere each minute in the world starts to mourn

When a baby comes out of the womb, another officer's gun goes boom!
Crime scene tape up, Mom's baby rushed to the emergency room

America doesn't seem to care, bullets ricochet off bones
The world is so cold and do us wrong because of our skin tone

There's no probation or parole for law enforcement as a whole
We get candlelit vigils when they release their souls

Smiles on their faces that look exactly like the joke
We got nothing on us, officer, like we're playing a game of strip poker

I have a dream! Hmm! has everyone forgotten?
That racism still exist, they envision us picking cotton

There's no need to empty their clip, e don't have a gun or a blade
But what is happening now! Been happening in a different day and age

It'll be a part of history with a different chapter and a different page
All the victims are teenage, like middle school play center stage

When they hunt like wolves, they have infrared beams
Hopefully one day this nightmare will be over and we can live the dream!
