B'more Gets it Right

"To the youth of this city, I will seek JUSTICE on your BEHALF... YOU are at the FOREFRONT of this...."

This statement given by Marilyn Mosby, Baltimore State atty., during the announcement of criminal charges against 6 Baltimore police officers, behind the murder of Freddie Gray, demonstrates, unequivocally, the true POWER of the PEOPLE.

This is a current result of an awakening that began w/the Oscar Grant protest, picked up steam in St. Louis & N.Y., & producing fruit in Baltimore w/these charges. Not unlike its predecessor, the Occupy Movement, this one is beginning to catch fire worldwide. May 4, we seen protestations against police brutality in diverse regions like Mexico (murdered students), & Israel (against Ethiopian-Israelis). (Democracy Now, May 4, '15)

Everyone knows that I have no problem banging on this (non)Justice system, but, so far, Mr. Mosby HAS DONE IT JUSTLY. NO LENGTHY INVESTIGATIONS, & NO PRETENSE OF ABSOLVING, by the way of a RIGGED GRAND JURY HEARING. None of that stupidiy... straight to being charged like any other Joe Blow in the inner-city. Well, a little different, most of us are charged, then investigated, however, I disgress. :) Nevertheless, Ms. Mosby has lucidly demonstrated the way THAT ALL THE OTHER POLICE SHOOTINGS SHOULD HAVE BEEN HANDLED!!!

Plus, how paradoxical was it for the police union to come out CRYING HOW UNFAIR it waws to have their comrades charged, w/little investigation, & because of the pressure from the COMMUNITY? Especially, after ALL THE PRISONS THEY HAVE FILLED IN A LIKEWISE MANNER!!! Just look at the CENTRAL PARK 5, for one. Don't recall the police denouncing public pressure, not dishonest investigationsthen, or in any others that ended up w/EXONERATIONS!!! Anyway don't worry police union, if your brethren are truly innocent, I am sure they will be exonerated. At least this is what you are always telling us, while shoving us in the back of those cars/vans!!!

Postscript: We must be cognizant of the fact that these charges are not a VICTORY in itself, ONLY a MAJOR STEP TOWARD A GREATER GOAL!!!
