Thanks for your comment. I am blessed in so many ways. I have friends and family who will help me when I need it and I have the ability to raise issues in the court system without having to hire an attorney.

The way the Wisconsin prison system runs is so bizarre that I like to share my observations in blogs. It reminds me of North Korea or the old Soviet Union. I believe that if more people know how arbitrary, destructive, and wasteful the prison system is, they would speak out against the waste of their tax dollars. But maybe I am being naive and merely engaging in wishful thinking.

I heard on public radio yesterday that Gov. Walker's next budget will include another 2 year freeze on tuition and generally flat budgets for state agencies. One notable exception: Corrections. As our state university system starves and the DNR has insufficient resources to monitor pollution from mega farms, the prisons are flush with cash to house people who should have been released decades ago. As I said: bizarre.
