Hi Jessica:
Thank you for your compassionate response concerning Bob Pollard. There are so many people in prison who are suffering with no one to help them. I often must harden my heart to shut out the pain of others. It wears me down over time.
That is how prisons dehumanize prisoners—by hurting them so much they become numb to the pain. With that comes the loss of empathy and compassion. My commitment to God and the love of my woman is what enables me to retain my humanity. There is nothing greater in life than to be love and be loved.
