Senator John McCain
1936 - 2018

Gone from us, but leaving memories
death can never take away,
memories that will always linger
While upon this earth we stay.

We talk about service, sacrifice, honor, and patriotism. John McCain lived and exemplified them.

May our country never forget all he taught us with his life and service, and may we not fail to heed the examples he lived for all to see.

Thanks for writing!

I have mixed feelings regarding McCain's thoughts about crime and incarceration (for the death penalty, increasing arrests for drug law violations, and so on), but I'm with him for trying to weaken inhumane torture of illegally imprisoned people. Though I didn't agree with him all the time, I regard him with a higher esteem than I thought I would.

It's heartening to know someone will show their respects to Senator McCain behind bars too.
