Put Down

Put Down

Like the wolf
I pace back and forth in this cell
Wanting to yell as loud as I can
Even if I could be heard
Would anyone rescue me
If I were an impounded cat
They would find a good home for me
Perhaps I should learn how to purr
And jump up in a lap
No normal person could last thirty years of torture
Like I have in this cell
I must not be normal then
Recent years seem heavier to endure
Perhaps being in a lockdown setting continues on
Or just maybe I'm part wolf
Ready to run free

Thank you for your post.

I liked "perhaps I should learn how to purr" "and jump up in a lap". It made me smile.
