Hi Evy,
Great to hear from you. I see John every once in a while and say hello. But since we live in different units we don't have much contact.

I already sent that letter to Warden Richardson and Kevin Carr—no response from either one or anyone else I sent it to. But if you want to send it again, go ahead.

They now have six phones on each unit—four phones under the sign up system and two free-for-all phones anyone can use whenever the day room is open. The restricted phones sit empty most of the time while guys wait their turn to use the free-for-all phones. It's shameful, in my opinion.

DOC bureaucrats are suffering from massive groupthink. It's more important to agree with each other than to do the right thing so when one of them comes up with a bizarre phone policy, none of them will speak up to say the emperor has no clothes.

I think you should write a manual on how family members can navigate the prison system. For someone new to the prison system it's like being dropped into North Korea and expected to prosper. A guide from someone who just got done experiencing the steep learning curve could help a lot of people.

Merry Christmas!

Harlan
