2012 BEGINS WITH BLESSINGS
January was a month of big changes. I moved to a new cell, received a new cellmate and started two different jobs. All of this transpired in a few short weeks. It left me out of balance and needing time to adjust.
Today I went before a committee for my annual review. I learned that my placement at this prison is safe for another year. I was hoping for this outcome. Many inmates were transferred to other institutions in order to reduce the population here. The exodus was an unsettling experience for me. Termoil spread throughout the prison. It effected all of us in some way.
I am hoping to settle into a routine soon. Changes are nice but too many at once can be disruptive. I am trying to finish some old projects before I get too involved with new ones. I will write more blogs once my schedule calms down.
Throughout the last month I have continually reminded myself that God is in control. Most of the situations I found myself in were undesirable to me. I worked at maintaining a positive attitude. The results were that the challenges all turned into blessings. My year started off with problems that became opportunities. It was a great beginning for 2012.
