I didn't know anyone even USED the word 'duvet' anymore! Good for you! I'm lazy - AND American so I get to say 'quilt' or IF I am feeling verbose I might use 'comforter'... I shall try to use 'duvet' in bedtime/lazy Sunday/cold weather conversation more often though. Good classic word. I like!
Oh - as I am a lazy American - can I call you 'Liz' or 'Beth'? 'Lizardbreath'? :D
By the way - LOVE 'Downton Abbey'. Awesome series!! Tho 'Spooks' (MI-5) in U.S. remains my favorite since Dr Who & Last of the Summer Wine were on...
