Maisha,

My eyes are filled with tears. Instead of doing my work I’ve found myself engrossed in your writings. You write so beautifully and so descriptively that for the first time in 10 years, I remember how the mattresses at Lee Arrendale used to feel and the thin sheets, I could see my whole hand through it!

I don’t know if home is a place. I believe home is where your mind rests; it looks like your home may be your writing.

I saw your picture and your story on Jan Bannings post of stories and pictures of women in Pulaski.I will be praying for you, Maisha. God is a forgiving God but man is a greedy man; unmoved by human issues. I hope that someone is helping you fight! Life is always worth fighting for, even from inside. Please keep writing and know that you’re helping others. I encourage you also to draw attention to yourself the best way you can. If you don’t mind, I’d like to share your writings on my social media pages with your story so someone can reach out to you to help?

I’ll wait for your response first and do hope to hear from you,

Best,

Paulette (Mahogany)
Btw, I started writing with “The Authors Club” at Lee Arrendale in 2009

That is crazy. I'm actually glad you shared this. It gives me, and anyone else who reads it, a nice timeline for what happened (I'm assuming) at your prison. I do notice that it's a bit out of date though, so perhaps you might share with us a more updated version.

Either way, fascinating stuff. Stay safe and healthy, my guy.
