My land line is 608 592 1911 if you are ever able to call or inclined to do so. I have to admit I don't know much about the rules and regulations. Just FYI Beth
I am sorry to hear about your family all passing. Flo too? So sad Leon. Ok great, I will start writing. Get me on any list necessary. I live in Lodi, so not far from you. I came across you by simply surfing the net one night, maybe it was meant to be. I spent a little time with Jesse before he passed, and he told me I was the best one he ever lost!! Ha! I could have told him that, Leon. Anyway, I am 67 yrs old, retired from 43 years nursing, divorced and live with my beagle Jackson. I bought a place and left Madison 5 years ago, so now live outside of Lodi on Crystal lake. I love lake living, summer and winter, I love to fish, including ice fishing I had both knees replaced on the last year, so no stopping me now!. That will give you a bit of idea about me, and I will write over the weekend. Glad you responded. Sending good thoughts. Beth
Prometheus is a Titan, culture hero, and trickster figure who is credited with the creation of humanity from clay, and who defies the gods by stealing fire and giving it to humanity as civilization. Prometheus is known for his intelligence and as a champion of humankind
The punishment of Prometheus as a consequence of the theft is a The immortal was bound to a rock, where each day an eagle, the emblem of Zeus, was sent to eat Prometheus' liver, which would then grow back to be eaten again, eternally.
You call yourself a secular Buddhist, what does that mean? I’m a Buddhist Buddhist. I’m a Libran too. I had a really crap birthday this year I fell backwards down the stairs. Didn’t get hurt but I am an old lady so not a great stunt to start the day with. But hey, it was probably a better start to the day than you got on yours!! American Scientist seems like an oxymoron rather than a periodical. Science is thousands of years old, your country is only 250 years old and all your scientists are imported. My uncle worked on the fledgling NASA Apollo they recruited him from the Royal Navy. Treated him like a king, then when the missions were shelved dropped him like a stone. No more medical, no more money, I’ll health and poverty beckoned. New Scientist is an English publication that is pretty good, it is more of a quantum sort of prediction led journal. Ask your people if I can send it into you. How’s your liver doing? T
Thanks for writing! I finished the transcription for your post.
Unfortunately, as much as the media wants to point the finger solely at Trump, the Kurds have been getting this neglect from USA many times before. The main difference this time around is the Kurds had vocally expressed faith in Trump's early promises and are understandably angry at the broken trust.
Obama had promised military aid for the Kurds' independence during his presidency but retracted when the strong anti-war rhetoric prominent at the time overturned him. Before that was Bush who was very wish-washy about dealing with them at all due to similar economic reasons as Trump (protect the oil trade through alliance with Turkey, etc.). Almost nothing significant from Clinton. And so on, etc.
And remember, it was Western civilization that made them landless to begin with. From the BBC:
"Why don't they have a state? Despite their long history, the Kurds have never achieved a permanent nation state
In the early 20th Century, many Kurds began to consider the creation of a homeland - generally referred to as "Kurdistan". After World War One and the defeat of the Ottoman Empire, the victorious Western allies made provision for a Kurdish state in the 1920 Treaty of Sevres.
Such hopes were dashed three years later, however, when the Treaty of Lausanne, which set the boundaries of modern Turkey, made no provision for a Kurdish state and left Kurds with minority status in their respective countries. Over the next 80 years, any move by Kurds to set up an independent state was brutally quashed."
Keeping that in mind, the recent change of heart just stabs all the more deeper. :<
I'm glad that you have enough compassion for human goodness and empathy. I can only hope it can be a voice to stay away from warfare.
I have to admit I don't know much about the rules and regulations.
Just FYI
