I got your letter a few days ago, but I think you will have my answer before you read this ;-). I plan to write to you this night still.
I think it's wise of you to quit that job. That job just cut your day in a lot of slices, you couldn't do any other serious thing of your day. I think the balance between your efforts at one side and the fee at the other side was a bit distorted.
It's a pity the Mex don't want you to look the tv with them. Maybe when that man, Chavey is gone, you could change that? I myself don't look tv very much, but I can understand in prison this can be of some distraction...
I hope you won't have to go in confinement again. I have the impression you are a bit calmer than some time ago, even if you don't agree with things going on. Wel I hope you will be able to break the cycle.
I'm a bit down, but when I read about life in prison, it's just peanuts... I pray to another God than you, but I think it's all the same. If you have the possibility, you might pray for me to, OK?
I have really enjoyed reading your posts! It takes me back to a time when I once told one of my ESL students at Southeast Middle School in Winston that he was truly a gifted writer! I was captivated by his stories (remember "Charlie"?), but soon young Jesus went to high school, and I never saw him again.
I must say that I am STUNNED by how incredibly your writing has matured! Congratulations on your beautiful poetry!
I am still teaching and once again have some students who are at turning points in their lives. I'm very concerned about them, and I think they might benefit greatly from the wisdom of your perspective. I hope you won't mind if I share your poems with them.
Great shadows and highlights, I'm currently practising how to do faces myself, It's not easy, I find myself just looking at peoples faces and seeing where the light hits and what not.
