Bad Days

Okay, let's be real. We all have bad days. You know even being a Christian we face things we don't understand. We get the raw end of the stick. Or things just don't go the way we expect them to. Yet our good days will always outweigh the bad days.

My days here lately have been generally good, but I've had some bad days that truly kicked me while I was down. On top of that, my mail went from every day hearing from the people that love and care about me to whenever they stop doing what they're doing to write me.

Bad days are days when you get news someone you love is really sick and for two weeks you don't hear anything. So you spend each day waiting for news to come, but it doesn't. The anxiety is what makes the day bad.

Bad days are when you wake and all you want to do is stay in the dream you were in. No, those are just days you wish you were anywhere else but in prison.

My bad days were days I woke up not knowing how I was going to get through the day because depression had me so pressed down I couldn't see straight. I had one focus: easing the inner emotional turmoil. Bad days... I know them full well.

I'll give you a brief list.
1.) It's the day you wake up and you've run out of reasons to go on. You give up!
2.) It's being in love with someone only to find them loving someone else.
3.) It's being pregnant to only lose your baby at 6 months.
4.) It's your mama passing and you know you've lost the one person who stuck by you, right or wrong or in between.
5.) It's being in the wrong place at the wrong time and choosing to stay down with your partner, knowing you're all gonna do time.
6.) Bad days are being stuck in an abusive relationship because it's what's comfortable and you fear the unknown.
7.) It's choosing to allow your past to dictate your present.
8.) It's getting clean, doing the right thing, raising a family, and then relapsing.
9.) It's losing your kids to your addiction.
10.) It's when you lost hope in all you believe in, including yourself.

Bad days, yeah, I know all about them. Believe me, I do. I also know these to be true.

1.) Every bad day, a blessing comes from it!
2.) Every bad day, a lesson is learned!
3.) Every bad day, a little more strength is gained.
4.) Every bad day, is God saying it's gonna be okay!

You see, your bad days as well as your good got to pass through the throne room. You'll never face more than you can bear. You'll never go through a bad day alone. You'll never have a worser day than God did. You'll always be able to turn your bad day into a good day by turning it over to God.

If it weren't for bad days, we'd never be able to grow. So when you have a bad day, be sure to tell the Lord, "Thank you!" Because your bad day didn't break you. It only made you stronger.

Be blessed!
