Hello, World.
Summer is nearly upon us. A week of unbearable heat inside the cell houses as the exhaust vents don't work. But a blessing as the weather turned stormy. The temps cooled and stayed in the mid 80s and cool 60s at night. The small blessings. Hopefully, only July and August we bake and it will once again begin to cool down. Just 60 days...
The chow hall has been serving yogurt. Someone out there has had mercy and showed us kindness. Okay, maybe the recipe at the factor was off and the yogurt was a bit too sour to sell. Maybe the expiration date is next week. To us, it is like Mana from heaven. One guy managed to get a container and mixed it in a chicken and noodle to create delicious cracker spread. My mouth watered at the first bite. It's amazing what meals a guy can create with a few store bought items—to make the suffering of prison life a little more bearable.
Our email is finally working!

If anyone wants to email me directly, please set up your email account with me at the above site. It's working great! We've had it since April and it seems all the kinks are worked out now.
Our GrahamVet program (incarcerated military veterans) has reached a membership of 82 men. That's a first!
We've had a handful of real problems over the past year with new arrivals. Maybe 10 or 12 in all. Most of the problems these guys caused were due to their untreated mental or emotional imbalance. The most recent guy is an Iraq vet and clearly showing severe PTSD symptoms. But he won't trust us! He's pushed away and threatened every single person who has tried to help him. He keeps melting down and threatening people.
A few days ago, he threatened a CO and now it's out of our hands. They moved him out of the vet house the next day. That protects but he's screwed... Now that he is with all the gangs and thugs, it will be much more difficult for him. Sadly, they've started a pool to guess how many days he'll make it before going to segregation (seg) for fighting. Bummer... If only we could access proper VA care!
One step in the right direction though: yesterday, two state representatives visited our meeting. Of course, all three wardens were present along with an IDOC director and two staffers. I am confident they have a great impression of how supportive the Graham administration is and that our 82 vets want to find healing and rehabilitation. Just work with us and permit us VA access!
Anyway, it was Avery Bourne and CD Davidsmeyer. If you would like to thank these honorable Congress members on our behalf, please do so:
