Hello Evy,
Your husband, John, is very lucky to have you in his life. Many wives would have left their husbands for doing what your husband did. Pretty much the only crime that will send someone to prison based on an internet addiction is pornography of a certain type. So I applaud you for loving him enough to stay with him through this ordeal.
Have you considered getting involved in reforming the criminal justice system? If so, email wisdomforjustice@gmail.com (David Liners) and join WISDOM.
Their website is: rocwisconsin.org
and on Facebook: WisdomforJustice
I'm not very consistent with my blog postings. I've been doing this for 8 years and am running out of things to say. Prisoners are kept away fron any information that will make the DOC look bad - they took the open records law away from prisoners in the 1990s. That makes it hard for me to find interesting subjects to talk about. I can see why free world people would want to read what I write. But I don't see why another prisoner would want to read it. The prison-related things I talk about every one of us has experienced or know someone who has. Perhaps someone new to the prison system would find my postings informative. It's easy to become paranoid and believe they are out to get us individually when in reality that's the way they treat everybody.
One thing I notice about citizens who are new to the criminal justice system is the surprise they show at how unjust it is. People who haven't been victims of the criminal justice system haven't a clue about what it's really like and once they get caught up in the system, it's too late to do anything about it.
Well, Evy, feel free to write me any time. I hope my blogs help you to deal with the tragic situation you and your husband find yourselves in. Hopefully, he will get a break.
Harlan
