Dear friends,

To paraphrase the great essayist, Thomas Mann: These too are times that try men's souls!

As many of you know, when 2 storm fronts meet, they usually cancel each other out - however, when 3 storms collide, they can create conditions for what's known as a "perfect storm". A potential category 5 event like Hurricane Andrew, which unleashed its fury on South Florida back in 91.

I was in South Florida at that time - I rode out the storm in a bathtub with my Lhasa Apso and a bottle of Dewars White Label. :D

The next day - 5 minutes to the [illegible] - it was like a war zone.

From the perspective here "behind the wire" - I can clearly see a confluence of events which are creating the potential for a socio-political "perfect storm".

I pray, without ceasing that cooler heads will prevail - and that those who would stir up a toxic brew of pain, anger, hate, divisiveness, fear and uncertainty, are exposed as charlatans and demogues. (sp?)

9/11 brought back painful memories... images of our embassies being attacked in Libya and Egypt were extremely disconcerting.

Nov. 9th will find almost $2 billion being spent to highlight those issues which divide us as a nation. Not simply, Dem vs Reps - but US vs DEM... rich vs poor, black vs white, red vs blue, left vs right, right vs wrong... That money will be spent - not trying to convince voters why THEIR party is "good", but why the other is bad. Hatred and divisiveness as a political platform.

12/21/12 will complete a 26,000 year cycle of the planets - it will also mark the "mysterious" and abrupt ending of the Mayan calendar - soon there will be a media frenzy as people begin to squawk about things like:
The end of the world. ;)
The dawning of the Age of Aquarius
The invasion of aliens
The beginning of our sorrows
Or a shortage of "Tickle Me Elmo" dolls. :D

There will be people (unfortunately) who whip up those emotions - painful memories, anger, hate, divisiveness, fear and uncertainty will be whipped into waves that wash away reason and erode common sense. Hate groups will climb out from under their rocks and spew forth.

I see signs of it here behind the wire - in places like Fort Stewart, GA (see! F.E.A.R. & plot to overthrow gov't). I could go on - but I won't contribute to the "fear & uncertainty", I'd rather say this.

The shadow of a dog can't bite you - the shadow of a knife can't cut you - but the shadow of doubt can destroy your faith and rob your heart of song!

Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might! Eph 6:10-20. Learn to dwell in the secret place of the most high - PS 91.

If you can't do that... MAKE BELIEVE God is watching. :D
