Nicki,

How exciting that someone in "Australia" has an interest in the struggle we face while in prison here in America!

Thanks for your note and I REALLY enjoyed reading about the things that make you smile. It made me smile too as I tried to envision what springtime looks like in N.E. Australia. There are 2 or 3 movies I've seen that were filmed in Australia, but seeing a place on video is never the same as walking down the streets and smelling the scent of the air.

Today I had to smile when I realised that I didn't see a single political ad on T.V. Thank God, this election is over!

My one connection with world events is the news. I'll watch a little of everything and try to sift out the nuggets of truth in all the B.S. So I'll watch PBS, World News, CNN, Fox, MSNBC, BBC, WGN and a few others until I get ill from the garbage and propaganda. My favorite is the BBC.

For the last 4 months, 80% of the news is drama and soundbites on politics. Not just once, but the same thing repeated over and over, day after day. It's good that I'm already insane, otherwise it would have driven me crazy for certain.

So after 10 minutes watching a bobbing head debate the President's birth certificate, an announcement is made about hospital treatment for increasing sports injuries happening to teenagers. But 30 seconds later they switch over to a 15 minute broadcast on how Romney parts his hair. What! Really!? Then there is a 5 second blurb that NASA announces evidence of water and life on Mars, discovered by the Mars lander Curiosity... Oh, but wait. Let's switch over to bobble head #2 and find out what President Obama had for breakfast! 20 minutes later...

I also smiled today when I noticed a mouse had eaten away a piece of my soap. And in return left 3 little poop pellets as a gift in my soap dish.

So do I set a trap or leave him a cookie? :)

From Central Illinois, U.S.A.

David

P.S. Thanks, LisaHeard for doing what you do...
