Hey there, stranger. You wrote that you wanted someone who has read one of your blog posts to respond to you, so here I write.

According to one of your older posts, I think you're out of prison by now now. If not, congrats on hanging in there for your release date (sometime this year?) and so on.

I'm curious to know if you still like reading fantasy. But fantasy alone is somewhat vague for giving you recommendations or discussing. Any particular sub-genre you enjoy? Like dystopian ("end of the world" scenario), immersive (first-person experience with a focus on experiencing with the knowledgeable protagonist), portal (think The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe), or dark (cryptic and sometimes graphic)? It's pretty vast.

Hoping you're doing okay, wherever you're at right now. There's too much in the world to give up on it. Be at peace.

Hello Eric,

I'm from The Netherlands, and surprised by an American interested in Brexit. Not many people here care that much, other than some vague worry what it will bring. I personally am conflicted. The British always were trouble makers inside the EU, but if democracy means anything they have any right to leave. However, I do not think they did themselves a favor and the consequences wont be positive for them or Europe for that matter. Some kind of economic downturn due to all the tarrifs and border delays and import/export will be disturbed. Our country (close to Britain) will feel the consequences, but I think we will adapt and be largely okay after the initial shock. We'll see how it will play out. If it goes above expectations/fears, than the movement in other countries to get out may gain strenght.

Dear Antoine,

To answer your question about choices today; it will be that I am gracious for all that I have, forgiving & tolerant of others, kindness and gentleness towards all creatures, helpful, positive, happy, open, honest, generous with all that I have, and lastly to really give it another try at practicing all of the above when it comes to myself. Hang in there my fellow being and Cowboy fan. I live their city and have all of my life. PS. this site says that this platform is available to only 1% of those incarcerated. Why only 1%? Do you know? Thank you for the question as it did make me pause for thought. Lana

Thank you for such an uplifting response. I'm so heartened that your prayer was answered and that that man didn't give up on life. What a God indeed! Let's keep listening.

Dear Jack,
I hope you get this letter by the time you're released.
I listened to the first sixteen songs, but I haven't got around to the others yet! I put all 64 of them in a playlist on my phone, so I'm working on listening to them when I get the chance. I've never listened to much country but the more I listen to, I like. Thank you for recommending me these songs, it helps me get into new genres!
I started studying for my GED again. I think by now, it's just a matter of me overcoming my anxiety and just scheduling the first test.
I haven't posted seven poems on Facebook yet, but I will! I'm deciding which seven I want to post. It's hard to find seven that I like enough to feel comfortable posting. A lot of my friends on Facebook are artsy people from theatre, and I don't want to look like I'm that bad of a poet.
My Facebook is Marsha Anderson (I'm the one with curly brown hair and glasses, I'll link you once you get out and email me). I know that sounds strange, because you know me as Grace. My birth name is Grace, but I don't normally go by it anymore. When we first started talking, I did go by Grace.
I'm so happy to hear that you're getting out in a week or less! I couldn't stop smiling when I read that.
To answer your questions:
1. I describe myself as an extrovert with social anxiety. I love talking and being around people, and I get lonely without frequent social interaction, but I'm also pretty anxious around people sometimes.
2. I hope I'd be a good parent, and a very accepting one. I think in the generation I've grown up in, I've learned a lot about the LGBT community, mental illness, racial issues, etc. I would like to think that I'm very accepting, and my children wouldn't be afraid that I'd judge them.
3. Where do I want to be in a year? God, a year seems so far away. For the past two years I've done nothing at all, just sitting at home. I'd like to get my GED, but I also don't. I'm too afraid of the future. I'd at least like to be able to drive.
4. One thing I like about myself. I'm really good at comforting people. I think it's easier to comfort people in person, though.
5. My favorite song of all time is Going to California by Led Zeppelin. Anything from Led Zeppelin is good, honestly. Manic-Depression by Jimi Hendrix is really good too, though, and I think I relate to it a lot. I love Hendrix. I also like Fast Car by Tracey Chapman. I relate to Fast Car a lot.
Some more questions for you!
1. What's a hobby/interest you've always wanted to try, but never have?
2. What's one (or many) interest/subject that you are very knowledgeable of? Even if it's kind of obscure and not something taught in schools!
3. Have you ever ridden a roller coaster, and what was it like?
4. What's a movie that makes you cry (or at least a very powerful movie that you like)?
5. What's the nicest compliment you've ever received?
Have a wonderful day! I'm so excited for you. You're a good person and you deserve great things, Jack.
-Grace
