Receiving a constant lashing from the oft-uneducated clientele that PDs represent is reason enough to quit the profession. No amount of pay or benefits is worth constant disrespect from those whom the PD is hired to advocate for. Of course whatever traits initially led one to have one or "many" criminal cases are the same traits that lead a defendant to blame everyone but himself for his own predicament. PDs, though some of the toughest and most skilled professionals around -- are not magicians. At some point, you must face what YOU did to get yourself in prison. The cards are stacked always against the defense-- always. The criminal justice system is infamous for this inequity. The PD is the ONLY one in your corner and goes down with you if you lose. But at least they put their intellect, talent, and wit on the line to give you a fighting chance. NO ONE likes to lose. EVEN if they represent an argumentative, disrespectful, ignorant skeptic who thinks they understand the system better than every trained legal mind in the courtroom. I'm sure your PD did the best hIe could and promoted a plea deal because it was in YOUR best interest, not his. At some point, you have to stop blaming everyone around you for the situation you are in. PDs have my utmost respect for taking a beating from both the system and from their clients. And defendants will rarely realize that just because your PD is the only one permitted to talk to you, not everything is his fault. He is the messenger for the behemoth justice system that is coming down on you and is just trying to help you through it. Toughest job around, esp when there is no trust from the client. But, I suppose it's human nature to blame the only person who cares for you. May you find the peace that you seek.
I miss your writings on the blog! ;) I hadn't characters and couldn't write for this. So I don't know? How is your spirit nowadays? I don't know if you will get this letter as they say here they'll print it on June 16th.Hope so!! I am making all ready to leave for the US on Thursday 19th!Always nervous as I can depend only on myself! Yesterday I got the visit of Elke, Bart and baby Lynn. She laughs a lot! A calm happy little girl! We had a real nice time together! They even slept here for an hour as a siesta. They have long and tirefull days with their jobs! Both doctors in Biology. We walked to the ecco swim pond nearby and they'll swim one day too.
I had two swims in the green water, purified by plants. It's not that deep, cold and relatively large. Usuallly I do three laps around the borders. 2 ducks swam as well, haha. When Lynn is older she can play as well in a child's parc there. We did a stroll and enjoyed the air of trees and the smell of fowers! As ou know there is fine dust in our city... My oldest brother and wife came to visit me; they had done previous a Europe tour and came from Australia.Their third grandchild is on it's way; it is a boy. :)
We still don't know where Leslie and Philip will move??
George wrote typed letters to ask the extended visits as we only got the 4 hrs/day this time...:( He wrote to three people; hopefully he has succes?
Martine wrote on my mobile phone she'd prefer to not have contact with me anymore... I was shocked! And to not interfere anymore with her contact with you.I did tell her that you and me were worried on her behalf and you told me to contact her.I always made time for her... How is your cellie Kelly? Is he still in your place?
I am so glad to see George very soon, my fiancee. :))) It took so very long.
I want you to know that we are working and supporting you with your clemency to the Governor. I reached out to Bill Bird (SGT. Bird) who is a writer for Leatherneck.com to see if we can get exposure for you.
Also we are working on a writing campaign to the Governors office and spreading the word through Facebook.com. You are not forgotten and will not be left to fight this battle alone. Can you provide someone we can contact at your reserve unit to help spread the word?
If there is a chance for us to testify for you we need to know so we can see who can show up. Please let me know.
Hello friends of David, We have begun an email campaign to Governor Pat Quinn, who currently has on his desk David's Pardon - which is not yet signed! It literally takes one minute or less to complete and submit the form. If you have the time, please note something personal about David to land a bigger impact with the Governor's office. If you don't know what to write, see the Facebook page for examples. You can contact Governor Pat Quinn here with an online form. It does not matter if you are out of district, you can still submit it via the online form.
For more information and to keep up to date, please consider joining this group to help support David.

And David, I got in contact with a Marine Veteran who works with Constitutional Veterans of America and other Veterans Advocacy groups. He is presenting your story to the above mentioned state-wide meeting in 2 weeks to get awareness, and the need to contact the governor's office, moving! Take care.
First of all I just want to ask God to have mercy on all of us, and that God has love and compassion for all involved in these matters of crime and punishment . I , myself also have compassion for those who have suffered a loss of a loved one, whatever the circumstances may have been behind that loss God,s comfort be with you. I also have compassion on those who have a loved one in prison serving a cruel sentence (The other Death Penalty) who didn't even commit murder yet recieved a sentence as if they did .What happened to our great Nation of freedom and justice for all, where did we go wrong each one seeking his own way instead of seeking God's way. There are thousands of new laws and only Ten comandments and Only One person under God who came to fulfill all of these comandments in our place , that same person suffered a cruel punishment that he did not deserve. Let each one of us look at each other knowing God is watching also. That is when change will take place." Evil flourishes when good men do nothing" Author unknown
