Hmmm, sounds like the Department of Corrections is not paying much attention to us citizens! (Where have we seen this in history?) Unfortunately, I don't have much pratical experience with governmental agencies. I would guess building up public support might help, or just repeatedly contacting the Department's appeal center (if that's a thing). Perhaps, if you can, try scheduling a face-to-face meeting with a Department agent? Maybe he or she will be won over by your sincerity. Anyway, hopefully fellow BtB commentors will have more helpful suggestions. Hang in there, brother! In the meantime, try reading legal and political philosophy for fun (if you can); people tend to enjoy Plato, Locke, Rousseau, &c. (if you haven't heard of them already). Can't wait to read your next posts!
Peace,
Calhoun25

Very powerful post this month. Everyone in the family sought out that article. My mom actually went to a couple different stores in search of the magazine. I wonder if there are people interested in keeping the program going? Or maybe TIME might follow up with a comment in their magazine about the program shutting down, which could create a call-to-action?? We can only hope. Take care!

Hi Milo

I've transcribed your poem. Thank you for your note regarding the first of the posts I transcribed for you. When I first discovered this website it appeared that none of yours had been done, but it turned out that wasn't the case. I'm so glad I was wrong. (While I was reading them, I realised it was just as straightforward to type them up, so in the end I stopped reading and started typing, which I why I didn't know until later that other people were on the case.) I'm going to keep going through your 'back catalogue' until they're all done, anyway.

I'm glad the name Lavender has happy connotations for you - it was chosen with all the connotations of the name in mind.

With kind regards
Lavender

I wish you the best with your time spent in solitude. I also wish the best for your family. It must be hard being locked up and watching other people run free.

Thanks for your positive words. My situation is nothing in comparison but I still get down on life and living.

Life has a way of throwing us curveballs when we least expect it. I am constantly dealing with negativity. I need to take a better perspective when dealing with the bad.

I wish you and your family the best,
Ashley

I give you a lot of credit for staying strong through all of this stuff. I know my situation is completely different, but I still have trouble staying strong through everything.

Sometimes I wonder how we get ourselves into all of these messes. How if we could, maybe we would do things differently.

Please don't let your mind deteriorate, and keep positive through this long struggle.

Thanks,
Ashley

Trevin,
hello from the Netherlands. Thank you for sharing your story. I am curious about the quotation you put under your post, which reads: "The choice is no longer between violence and non-violence; it is between violence and non-existence." Can you elaborate on that, what it means to you? Also, it is a quote by Martin Luther King, who is also known for his use of non-violent methods (and also reduced to his dream speech nowadays I think). I just transcribed your latest post and read your first two posts, in case I missed you writing about it already. Take care. Julia
