Thank you for your kind words!! As a mother, it is important to support your children in anything they do and what they believe in, but unfortunately not all children are that lucky. I have learned so much from my son by him being gay as was able to ask the hard questions so I can understand his point of view.
I have learned that he is the same as he was before but now I understand where he is coming from and appreciate him being true to himself.
Thanks for providing the info about the site. This is very helpful. I hope things get better in prison and people are more accepting of those who chose to be "true" to themselves no matter what the circumstances are. Sincerely, Teri
Hi Kelly...so sorry for not writing back sooner. I haven't been on the site lately so now I am just seeing your message. I enjoy reading your messages and am happy to get your story out through this website. My company encourages its employees to volunteer each year so with my telecommuting and not having in-person opportunities being available, I discovered the "Between the Bars" website on a virtual volunteer site that my company made available to us. I am an event planner for an utility company in the South. I thought this would be a perfect avenue for me to help while working from home. I enjoy reading the blogs and hope you keep continuing to tell your story!! Stay safe and well during this pandemic. Happy Holidays. Teri
Thanks for writing! I finished the transcription for your post. I am so glad to see you fighting this fight. Plea bargains and trial penalty are stains on this country. I hope that your strong words can make a difference. Too many people have been harmed by this. Good luck.
