Regarding building out of steel vs. aluminium, I'm definitely no metal expert, and some real research will be required before beginning to build, but from what I can find, aluminium is lighter and therefore more material can be used to match steel's weight to build a stronger structure. But aluminium has a lower yield point, and therefore steel structures can be built with less strength in mind, since it may get beat up, but will not fail catastrophically.
But I am not an engineer, nor a metal expert, and I'm not sure I even got this summary correct. :-)

I would also venture to guess that the staff where you are at find your intelligence level a challenge and rather intimidating Lol.
