Wow! Nine months of quarantine! What's up with that? Each state gets to run its prison system any way it wants so there's no way of knowing what the Michigan prison system is like.
People in prison are endlessly creative. One guy in Stanley with a life sentence and 50 year parole eligibility date found a woman serving life without parole in Tennessee. They started out as pen-pals and then fell in love. They carry on their relationship mostly by mail, but for a while they were able to set up phone calls (they called a mutual friend at the same time and were able to talk). That just goes to show you, where there's a will, there's a way.
