First of all, I apologize for taking over three months to respond. You probably forgot all about me and my comments on 9/11 a long time ago. I was having typewriter problems, which are all squared away for now so I can start my blog posts again.

I'd like to think that our world will never again see the use of nuclear weapons, but I'm afraid that our reality TV president would love to go down in history as the second president to authorize the use of nuclear force against an enemy—North Korea, of course. And his supporters would no doubt applaud his actions. Hopefully, his generals would talk him out of a preemptive strike.

Speaking of North Korea, I think we could defuse the entire situation by signing a peace treaty with them. All we have to do is a cease fire negotiated back in the 1950s. Kim Jun Un is fearful that we will renew hostilities at any time. That is mostly paranoia on his part. But since he now has nuclear weapons and the means to hurl them at us, we have to address his fears and resolve the situation peacefully, if possible. But I digress.

I think it is fine to be proud to be an American, but this obsession of many people their patriotism is harmful to our country as a whole. It fuels the desire to engage in imperialist actions to further our selfish agenda rather than to do what's best for everyone.

Thanks for writing. I hope to hear from you again.
