California On Blast (California's Death Penalty Scheme)
Only 2% of counties in the United States are responsible for the majority of the nation's death row population. Of the twelve counties with the most death sentences, seven of them are in California.
Of the 58 counties in California, Los Angeles County sends the most people to death row. Los Angeles is among the ten counties in California* responsible for the vast majority of death sentences in the state.
Over the last decade, with death sentences decreasing throughout California and the nation, these ten counties account for an even higher percentage of people in California's death row, with Los Angeles County remaining on the top.
Although Texas executes more people than any other state, Los Angeles County leads the nation in death sentences, responsible for placing 228 individuals on death row. As of 2013, more than double that of second-place Harris County, Texas.
*The ten counties are Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Alameda, Orange, Contra Costa, San Diego, Sacramento, Tularo, and Ventura Counties.
Stories have shown that the geographical location rather than the specific factors relevant to the crime determine whether a defendant lives or dies. Under the California death penalty scheme, some defendants will be chosen as candidates for the death penalty by one prosecutor while others with similar charges in a different county or even the same county will not.

What is wrong with her city Cleveland? Is she studying right now? Where does she live actually? Did I tell you I met Jeanine at a T-dansant and she told me George will be free this year.(!) She told me more amazing things. We remain friends. She tells me to take this seriously. I should send light to his lawyer Jessica and George. Each day; what I do!But George doesn't believe in it. Too bad, he should do it too, Jeanine pretends. Therefore I will buy the book she tells me. And send it to him, so he'll understand the importance of it!Beye for now! I will write more later xxx
Hi! I'm Lin. Thanks for writing. I finished the transcription for your post. I enjoyed reading it. You have a certain way of writing that was nice to read. Your celly certainly sounds interesting, and the lizard story you shared was quite funny. I'm sorry that you've having medical issues, and I hope your health improves! Sending love from the state of Virginia :) -Lin
Hi Donny! My name is Lin, and I live in the state of Virginia. I’m sorry to hear you’ve been having some struggles recently, but I think that, as long as you repent and pray for forgiveness, you aren’t an agent of Satan. I think it makes sense that you would get angry over someone taking your spoon, and I agree with what you said to your mentor when he told you not to get so upset over it. I’m glad to hear you’ve been feeling better recently though! I truly believe that God is with you, and I hope He watches over you in these coming times. Sending love, peace, and joy! -Lin
Wrote another transcription today. Keep writing. I know you don't like to get too much into it in our letters, but I think it's important to get your story out there.
Hello, Jack! 1. I am from America! Illinois, specifically. 2. I honestly don't read religious poetry often. I love poetry in general, but not specifically religious. I myself am Pagan and I try to appreciate all sorts of religions. 3. Yes! I absolutely love poetry. I write it very often. My notebooks are full of poetry. I mainly write free verse, but I like syllabic poetry as well. I don't often rhyme my poems, however. I hope you have a good day. You are in my prayers as well. -Grace
Dear Kelly, I'm sorry to hear about your MP3 player! I'm also sorry to hear about the rumors. I hope your month gets better. I hope your Valentine's Day was good! -Grace
