Lilacs in Bloom (May 17, 2018)

Yesterday I had the pleasure of taking a ride through central Wisconsin on a beautiful spring day. I guess you could call it a silver lining around a stormy cloud as I have a medical problem which requires treatment, and the medical facility where I am receiving treatment is over two hours away from Stanley Prison.

For those in the real world, trees, hills, pastures, and other commonplace features of the Wisconsin landscape are taken for granted. For those who live in the land of misfit toys, those same mundane sights are breathtakingly beautiful.

The thing I noticed most of all during my trip were the lilac bushes. They were all just coming into bloom and they are everywhere. I saw them scattered throughout neighborhoods and near homes out in the country. I would have liked to stop and smell every one I say, but since that wasn't possible, I relished viewing them and thanked God for the gift He gave me.
