New Souls: Marcus

1 To our beloved sister Kathy, and bakers of blessings; from Floyd, and Marcus, the youngest
of the new souls here with us.

2 When I first met Marcus, he had engaged our WODz project with a lyrical composition (or "rap")
written about his life, titled, "Like they used to", that was full of the raw, direct, explicit
language, and street vanacular reflecting his San Diego, California, roots. A life of drugs,
gangs, violence, betrayal, and love lost. The last chapters of an early life. I found his poetic
narrative to be a familiar theme of the street life, yet, a pivotal introspective guiding one
into a new chapter of life.

3 I asked Marcus last year if he was interested in receiving a gifted blessing from a church
congregation that just had a bake sale to raise funds for those of us in need of a package
during the coming Christmas holiday. Something as small as a new hot pot heat up cold meals,
for Marcus, was an expense that would've been more complicated, and inconvenient on his
young daughter, had that blessing not been received.

4 The following words came to me in a (*) kite I received from Marcus the days following his
receiving the S.P.O. ("Special purchase order") package from Kathy that december 2016:

(NOTE: THE ORIGINAL HANDWRITTEN KITE WAS REDACTED AND TRANSCRIBED IN CONSIDERATION OF
LANGUAGE ONE MAY FIND OFFENSIVE.)

6 I wanted to share this kite with the congregation and our Bakers of Blessings, for you
to see how your love has fond a young daughter in the hood without her father at home, and
the heart of this young father who's on his way to discovering a new chapter in his life
among God's real people in society. You just introduced Marcus to a reason to use the word
"appreciate". That's right, playboy!... "on tha real". :) This is great work for us. A window
to a new soul is open for the Lord because the Holy Spirt Church Congregation is doing the
work.

7 We pray for someone from the congregation to join the prison ministry to visit and fellowship
with Marcus next. This new soul is y testimonial - one of many New Generation condemned here.
My name is Floyd (aka: "Sniper" aka: "Xzyzst"), and I used to be Marcus. Before I met Sister
Kathy.

Papyrus Collective Distro

1 In August 2014 we created our own distribution co-op of WODz (WRITEORDIE zine) as a way
to meet the growing number of requests from our contributors and other California Death
Row Inmates here @ San Quentin prison, as well as those friends and family outside who
follow the annual release of WODz series. Working together with our lead contributors we were
able to combine our limited resources and man-power, and increase annual painting and
distribution numbers of WOD enough to meet the demand.

2 In 2017 we published our first catalog of ALL WODz issues. Over a dozen upcoming, current
and backissues, compilations and featured-author editions, all have been resurrected in the
pages of this catalog. With a brief editorial summary of each WODz issue spanning its 6 year
long history, exhibits the consistancy and commitment of Papyrus Collective contributing
writers, artists, coordinators, and the new distro co-op. Continuing to kep WODz in the
hands of those here @ San Quentin prison who want it.

South Chicago ABC Zine Distro

3 South Chicago ABC zine distro is our publishing primary, and has a distrribution network
throughout institutions nationwide. If you have a WODz catalog (whether you'reon the row at
San Quentin or a prison other than here) and you don't know who to get at for a WODz issue,
or you're looking for a catalog, you can write to the ABC zine distro address to request
WODz by title. It cost you nothing if nothing is all you have. If you're able, please cover
your own postage or SASE (self adressed stamped envelope).

4 WODz is free to all prisoners, copyleft and free to dubplicate and distribute. So do your
part to keep this thing going.

5 If you're interested in seeing our WODz catalog, I've posted it on my blog @ BTB
(betweenthebars.org). I'm also offering to fill a limited number or request for single issues
of WODz - that's one per request. Free. While supplies last. See my blog for more information.
You can also get at me via snailmail at the address below.

He seems dressed in all the rings
Of past fatalaties
So fragile yet so devious
He continues to see it
Climatic hands that press
His temples and my chest
Enter the night that he came home

Forever...

I hope to hear from you soon,

Sasha.

Hi David! Im really glad you replied. I really liked the picture you drew. You are extremely talented. Once again your writing will help me in the future with classes. I cant believe the way prisons act toward masturbation. Im glad you flick the "release valve" like me sometimes;) haha. To your questions: How would I help relieve your tension? Well... I would do all sorts of things. haha. I would start with your hair and run my fingers through it. Then my hands would work their way to your chest and then work them to your stomach until I slip my hands down into your pants and fun area... hahaha. I would then grip something and make it get like a rock. I would then slide my hand up and down making you squirm... I would be dripping wanting you to slide in me. Hopefully this doesnt get you in trouble reading that ;)

What is the thing I would most like to begin?
A meaningful project

What single word describes me most?
Caring

What is the strongest craving you get?
Same as you ;) and chocolate haha

Where is your favorite place to be touched?
My inner thigh

Do I like or dislike sleeping in the nude?
Like

What is the best place to be kissed?
Neck

5 minutes alone with you what would happen?
Read above. lol

Favorite Music?
A little bit of everything. I have been listening to country music lately though.

Favorite perfume?
Daisy by Marc Jacobs

Panties, Thongs, boy shorts?
Thongs.

Here are some more questions I found.
What is the most erotic scent you have ever smelled?
What is the longest you have gone without having sex?
What is the most comforting thing you have in prison?
What habit would you most like to give up?
When did you have the most fun in your life?
What is the best thing about being a man?

Alyssa :)

Hello Donald! Thank you so much for your response to my questions. I really loved your responses :). Just to let you know I asked these questions for a psychology class that I was taking in college. I was doing research on human interactions and how a lack of intimate contact can change a persons personality and outlook on life. I specifically was looking at correction systems. I am glad I stumbled upon this blog website. This is going to give me a first hand perspective into the system through people like you. Your responses were very thorough and will help me immensely in future papers. One thing you said and other people have said is that people seem to block out women from their lives if they can. People also talked about being reserved when they get out of prison and also scared of women. Another thing men and women both talk about is they masturbate in prison to cope with the lack of intimacy. These are just a few things I wanted to share that I have found so far and I appreciate you helping add to this data. If you can think of anything else that might help with my research I would really appreciate it. I really like your blog posts and I hope you continue to write. I guess I have a few more questions to ask if you dont mind answering if not, no big deal. Does your state offer conjugal visits? if so do you see any difference in mens behavior who get them? if not do you think it would help or not? Do you have access to regular pornography magazines? Can you have fully nude magazines? Does any contraband of this sort happen to get into prison if so? Do prisons discourage masturbation or allow it openly? A lot of men who I have blogged with on here in prison say they get punished if they were to be caught masturbating and I think that is wrong. Is that the same with you? This is part of human nature and is healthy thing to do to remove stress. I know I have to do it occasionally too to not be stressed ;) Does any contraband of this sort happen to get into prison if so? Do you think some men abstain from masturbation and show other forms of emotions to overcome these frustrations (like anger, depression)? Do men who have a significant others on the outside act any differently than men who dont have a significant other on the outside from your observations? That is all I can think of for now. If you dont feel like answering these questions dont feel obligated. I want you to be as comfortable as possible. I really appreciate anything you can answer. If you can think of anything else that might help let me know. I really love your writing. Just so you know i'm super blunt and i'm not afraid to talk about taboo topics. Haha. If you have a picture I would love if you would send it so I could see you ;) Thank you again Alyssa :)

20 June 17 Yes William:
I just re-read your post 3 times. It is so very spot on. I have never read anyone's writing like you write. I absolutely love how you can assimulate data and write so eloquently. You have worked very hard on all the courses you have done since exiled. Plus.
As I mentioned in a card to you. You are a Teacher, and Educator and incredible Being. The more you understand the more you raise your vibrations to change the condition you are in and other beings conditions. I admire your abilities. Thank your for posting. I am not in to Tarot Cards but truly get your signicance here. . . Well said. xo ML, Erne

I came from the film Michelangelo- famous! and sat on a tram where I met Geertje.Pronounce the double ee like the a of gate. She is Dutch, married without children. They like to live in Antwerp(en)!Culturely you are bombarded with activities! We are so very spoiled here.
We drank something afterwards- t is so hot! en remain friends. Her husband writes poetry.
Then when I went babysitting at Elke's children, Lynn 3 and Lars, 1,while waiting for the train I helped a Swedish man. I told him I studied Swedish and he also was the very first Swede I met. We sat together on the train, he gave me his email and he invited me to Sweden!!When I am up te it. :o He had been here to graspop, a well known festival.
WHY do I meet so many interesting people?
I had so much fun with the grandchildren! I remained at Lynn's school, un der the roof on the playground, because it's soooo very hot!! 32 degrees.
Too much for us; we're not used to those temperatures.

Have a better time, Kelly. I wish you much energy and positivism... I know it's difficult. :( Listen if you can, to John Prine; he's good! and Tish Hinojosa and John Gorka. George's faves. :))

love and blessings! Rita xxx

What sort of stamps do you need exactly? Can they only be book form, or are you allowed a roll of 100? And how can we help, with your commissary issues? Your posts are the real thing, and I'd like to see a bit more happiness there. Also, what's an i? You always talk about an I.
