I am Alberto from Italy. I was very sorry to hear about the bad condition of Texas’s inmates. As you correctly say there should be a change in the way politicians deal with inmates. It's not fair that so many people lose their lives in prisons that are still under the slavery system. Living in another country and continent, I think I can do very little to change this problem. As a Christian I can pray for you. If there is a petition I can sign, I would gladly sign it. Regards. Alberto from Italy
What’s up Jessie? I use to be an officer at unit 32 at Parchman. I always thought you was a good guy despite your decisions. Back in 03 i rooted for a lot of guys to get out of prison and become better role models for younger people. You were one of the guys I rooted for before the three officer incident. I hated the way they did you man, I felt sorry for you. I even asked you why? All officers are different in some aspects and some can be harsh I agree with you on that! I just wanted to treat y’all like men regardless of race and go home to my family. I never looked down on any of you. I was rooting for change on y’all behalf. I’m hoping you enjoy your day keep your head up inspite of the circumstances . The reason I looked you upis because I was in Milwaukee watching and they told the story on national tv about the guy that killed 3 of his own family members in Mississippi and was later killed by another cell mate. I still think you’re good man.
Hi Dymitri! I hope this message finds you well, I am grateful that I was able to transcribe your comment reply and I wish you the best on your journey.
That's a very nice statement, Dymitri. I agree completely. B (my spouse) and I became vegetarians after watching a couple of documentaries on how the meat factories really do treat chickens, pigs and cattle. We didn't feel our decision not to eat these animals would help them, but we just didn't want anything to do with it. We still do eat fish. They swim around and live normal fishy lives until they are caught. That doesn't seem so bad. Anyhow I admire your courage in stating what may be an unpopular view. Jay
The community existed in basically all the cultures of the world. Even predating back at the birth of the earth. it was violent, no cared for the next person. but as time progress our community have developed a respect for themselves. Two-spirits are respected because their medicine is strong. They have their feet planted in both the spiritual and the physical realms. From Greece to Europe they had eunuchs who traveled with their armies to give them comfort during the battle when they were away from their wives. it is not just restricted to just one race, it is in all races. but OUR community stays strong and represent themselves with dignity. What brings hardship is how their is those who call themselves our brothers and sisters that go out of there way to force recognition, which in my book is wrong. Live our lives to the fullest with respect for self will get results. That is why we now have LGBTQIA+ in congress, senate, and even mayors and pastors. As long as we live our lives as any other, we will overcome every obstacle that comes our way when we stay united.
I transcripted your letter, TEXAS PRISON COST YOU LIFE, on Between the bars web site.
